This inability to distinguish ourselves from the mass of humanity, this inability to celebrate our own origins, our own People and our own homeland, I argue in my latest book, The Promise of Israel, is dysfunctional. Do we not care about our own children more than we care about other people’s children? And shouldn’t we? Are our own parents not our responsibility in a way that other people’s parents are not? The same is true of nations and ethnicities. The French care about the French more than they do about others. So do the Italians. So do the Spanish. It’s only this new, re-imagined Jew who is constantly seeking to transcend origins which actually make us who we are and enable us to leave our distinct fingerprints on the world.

That ­an utterly universalized Judaism is almost entirely divorced from the richness of Jewish heritage and the worldview of our classic texts is bad enough. But on weeks like this, with hundreds of thousands of Israelis sleeping in bomb shelters and many millions more unspeakably frightened, it’s become clear that this universalized Judaism has rendered not only platitudinous Jews, but something worse. It bequeaths us a new Jew utterly incapable of feeling loyalty. The need for balance is so pervasive that even an expression of gut-level love for Israelis more than for their enemies is impossible. Balance has now bequeathed betrayal.

For me, the most devastating representation of this ethical and emotional confusion this week came from the pen of someone for whom I have great admiration, respect and affection. Rabbi Sharon Brous [ Ya’akov’s note: so-called “rabbi” ] is, to my mind, one of the most intelligent and creative minds in the American Jewish community. A perpetual fixture among the Forward 50, she is almost universally recognized for her path-breaking vision of what a synagogue can be, and her combination of deep intelligence and authentic soulfulness have reached many Jews who would otherwise not be attached to the Jewish world.

Because I hold Rabbi Brous in such high esteem and consider her a friend, I was especially devastated to read her message to her community this week, which I quote in full:

“It has been a devastating couple of days in Israel and Gaza.

I believe that the Israeli people, who have for years endured a barrage of rocket attacks targeting innocents and designed to create terror, instability and havoc, have the right and the obligation to defend themselves. I also believe that the Palestinian people, both in Gaza and the West Bank, have suffered terribly and deserve to live full and dignified lives. And I happen to agree with the editors of the New York Times that the best way for Israel to diminish the potency of Hamas – which poses a genuine threat to Israel – is to engage earnestly and immediately in peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.

But most critically at this hour, I believe that there is a real and profound need for all of us to witness with empathy and grace. Take a breath. We are deeply entrenched in our narratives of good and evil, victim and perpetrator – and we are scared. Over one million Israelis will sleep in bomb shelters tonight and rockets have nearly reached Tel Aviv. So it’s tempting to dig in our heels, to diminish the loss on the other side of the border, even to gloat. This is not the Jewish way. However you feel about the wisdom and timing of Israel’s response to the Hamas threat, the people of Israel need our strong support and solidarity. At the same time, supporting Israel’s right to protect and defend itself does not diminish the reality that the Palestinian people are also children of God, whose suffering is real and undeniable.

Let us pray that this conflict comes to an end quickly, and that we soon see a return to negotiations and a real, viable and sustainable peace.”

It is, on the surface, a lovely and innocuous message. But what’s deeply troubling about it is that every single expression of sympathy for Israelis immediately coupled to a similar sentiment about the Palestinians. Absolute balance, even on a week like this, has become the supreme commandment. “Thou shall love thy neighbor who attacks thee as yourself.”

What do we have? Israelis have a right and obligation to defend themselves, but in the very next sentence, Palestinians have a right to lives of dignity. Nothing wrong with that. Israelis are scared, but so are Palestinians, and it is not our place to gloat. Fair enough. And even more balance: “the people of Israel need our strong support and solidarity. At the same time, supporting Israel’s right to protect and defend itself does not diminish the reality that the Palestinian people are also children of God, whose suffering is real and undeniable.”

Unobjectionable, sort of.

For the clincher is this: “We are deeply entrenched in our narratives of good and evil, victim and perpetrator – and we are scared.” Yes, we are all deeply entrenched in our narratives of good and evil. But why does Rabbi Brous not feel that it’s her place as a rabbi to tell her community (I know that I sound like a dinosaur to her community in saying this) which side is good and which side is evil?

Of course Israel is far from perfect, and yes, much of life in Gaza is miserable. Yet why can we not actually say what we know to be true? Why cannot a leader of the American Jewish community say that the only reason that Israel and Hamas are at war is that Hamas wants to destroy Israel? Does anyone really imagine that even a return to the 1967 borders would mollify Hamas? How do I know that it would not? Because they say so. They say that they will never end the “armed resistance” until the “Zionist entity” is utterly eradicated. Why don’t we believe them? Why this paternalistic, virtually racist, “oh they couldn’t possible mean that – it must be a cultural difference in how we express ourselves”? XXX

The “we’re all entrenched in our narratives of good and evil” worldview leaves no space for calling evil what it is. Why can we not simply say that at this moment, Israel’s enemies are evil? That they’re wrong? Why cannot someone as insightful and soulful as Rabbi Brous just say, without obfuscation, that whatever fault one finds with Israel, it is the Jewish State that for seventy years has sued for peace and the Arabs/Palestinians who have always refused. Does anyone bother pointing out to her community that whatever you think of Israel’s presence on the West Bank (or Judea/Samaria), that when Israel left Gaza, the Palestinians elected Hamas, and that when Mubarak fell, the Egyptians elected the Muslim Brotherhood? Why are these obvious facts utterly unmentionable? Because hope must spring eternal?

Yes, Jewish hope must spring eternal. And in order for it to do so, in order for us to find the strength to continue, to send our children to war and to raise another generation in a place that will tragically not know peace in any of our lifetimes, we need to tell Jews what this is. This is a battle of good versus evil, the battle between those struggling to avoid civilian casualties and those who are intentionally trying to kill civilians, the battle between those who have time and again sought peace, and those who said “no” in Khartoum in 1967 and still say “no.”

As I read Rabbi Brous’s missive, I couldn’t stop thinking about my two sons, both in the army, each doing his share to save the Jewish state from this latest onslaught. What I wanted to hear was that Rabbi Brous cares about my boys (for whom she actually babysat when we were all much younger) more than she cares about the children of terrorists. Especially this week, I wanted her to tell her community to love my family and my neighbors more than they love the people who elected Hamas and who celebrate each time a suicide bomber kills Jews. Is that really too much to ask?

But my friend left me heartbroken. If people as wise and as deeply Jewishly knowledgeable as Rabbi Brous (whom I told that this response was forthcoming) cannot come out and say that at least at this moment, we care about Israel more than we care about its enemies because we care about the future of the Jews more than almost anything else in the world, then her Jewish world and mine simply no longer inhabit overlapping universes.

I knew, even before reading Rabbi Brous’s missive, that we Israelis are surrounded by enemies. When I finished reading her, though, I understood that matters are much worse than that. Yes, we’re surrounded, but increasingly, we are also truly alone, utterly abandoned by those who ought to be unabashedly at our side.

America’s eastern seaboard is being battered by a ferocious weather event which even some insurance companies would refer to as “an act of G-d.”  But could the “Frankenstorm” – the very strangely combined forces of a wintery land storm with Hurricane Sandy – actually be a message from the Almighty,B”H?

For quite some time most catastrophic storms and disastrous events in the United States of America have significantly correlated – very closely – with that nation’s HaShem-defying attempts to divide the Jewish Holy Land of Israel.

Whenever America has put a big pressure on Israel to divide our Land, they have reaped enormous, record-setting consequences – often within 24 hours.  For example, Hurricane Katrina and 9/11.

Because of the aggressive anti-Israel stand of the hidden-Muslim, Kenyan-born usurper illegally squatting in the White House, Barack Hussein Obama, America experienced this year over 90 all-time records of heat, just as he constantly acted against Israel in so many overt and covert ways.  But what is most attention-grabbing is that, the greater the pressure America exerts upon Israel to submit and “cooperate” toward our national suicide, the greater the ensuing American catastrophe.  Sadly, the American population, highly demoralized as it is, does not care so much about Israel, and it is too zombied by drugs and the media to establish such a correlation.  Even most American Jews, inclined on the altar of their senseless and Torahless Liberalism, will vote again in favor of an obvious enemy of Israel, Barack Obozo!  It is very telling that Barack means Lightning in Hebrew, and as if that was not enough Rahm means ‘Thunder’ – these two (Obama and Emmanuel) were the worst storm that fell upon America.  Did you notice that neither one of them was born in America, one a Kenyan and the other a secular excretion from Israel?  I wonder if anyone in America has any brains left so as to realize that these things have a very serious Meaning from HaShamayim?

So it is in this light that Hurricane Sandy landed ashore in the American Northeast on the very 21^st anniversary of the movie-made-famous ‘Perfect Storm‘.  That also record-setting mega-storm devastated the New England coastline while the then American President, George H.W. Bush, co-sponsored the wickedly-intended ‘Madrid Conference‘ which took place from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, 1991.  But of course, that also was a mere “coincidence”; what else could it be?

It was at the Conference that Bush broke from President Reagan’s slightly more pro-Israel policies (not as much as most people like to think) in the attempt to forge an Arab-Israeli “Peace Plan” (read ‘Piece Plan’) which included “recognition” of the so-called “Palestinian” so-called “right” to possess great portions of our biblical Jewish Lands.  Oy, but while Bush was in Spain advocating the antisemitic division of Israel, the “Perfect Storm” – so named for the ferociously destructive way in which a cold nor’easter combined with Hurricane Grace – was lashing the U.S. seaboard at home causing major havoc, horror and deaths.

Tellingly, the ‘Perfect Storm’ sent 30-foot ocean waves into Bush’s own Kennebunkport home as he was maliciously calling upon Israel to give up the Jewish homes of Judea and Samaria (or as the anti-Zionists call it the ‘West Bank’ of the Jordan river) and East Jerusalem.  That Madrid ‘Land for Peace’ Conference began the Israeli-“Palestinian” “peace” process that even the untrustworthy Mitt Romney advocated for in the presidential debates – even as yet another ‘perfect storm’ was brewing off the U.S. shore!  Hello!

The original ‘Perfect Storm’ formed on Oct. 28, 1991, and dissipated on Nov. 4 – correlating almost perfectly with the dates of the ‘Madrid Conference’.  The storm was blamed for 13 deaths and over $200 million in damages, including those to Bush’s vacation home.  Did I already mention that it was “just a mere coincidence”?

In another “mere coincidence” Hurricane Katrina, the deadliest and costliest hurricane in U.S. history, hit the US on Aug. 29, 2005.  That destructive storm began on the very day President George W. Bush succeeded in his purpose and thus congratulated Israel for evacuating 10,000 Jews from Gush Katif in Gaza and called upon the Israelis and the invented-by-Arafat-and-the-media “Palestinians” to move forward toward his malevolent ‘Two-State Plan’ (read, ‘two states at the begining and no Israel at the end’).

But there are some pointers in other moments of history., so let us talk a bit about the 1938 “Long Island Express.”  This was the most powerful, deadliest and costliest hurricane in recent New England history.  That storm killed more than 600 people and resulted in property damage that in today’s dollars would approach nearly $5 billion.  Now, what was interesting about that storm?

Leading up to the 1938 event, there was a tremendous persecution of the Jewish people as a build-up to the Holocaust.   The eye of that hurricane came directly over ‘Camp Siegfried’ and ‘Adolf Hitler Street’ in Long Island.  That powerful storm occurred exactly 38 days after Camp Siegfried was the center of the largest Nazi rally outside of Germany.  My, oh my, aren’t “coincidences” the most wonderful thing to contemplate?

There is also another similar parallel — yes, yes, I know, it is also totally completely and absolutely “coincidental” — with Hurricane Isaac and the 2012 Republican National Convention.  The day Isaac formed as a tropical storm in August, the Republican platform committee voted to add a “Two-State” position pertaining to Israel for formal convention approval.  The Republicans leaned toward Ishmael and HaShem had them remember Issac, through whom the Covenant and Promise to Avraham avinu comes.

It is worthy to note that this was the second straight Republican convention postponed due to a major hurricane.  And — “coincidentally”, it’s got to be — this is the third straight Republican convention that became secondary news due to a hurricane.  Yes, right at the moments of the 2004 and 2008 conventions — and hurricanes — Republican Bush was pressuring Israel to divide our HaShem-given Land of Israel so as to pave the way for the creation of another Arab “Palestinian” state (the original one is Jordan).

In fact, 9 out of the 10 costliest insurance events in U.S. history followed dramatic calls, and pressure, by U.S. officials for Israel to make Land concessions in bids for “Peace” with its genocidal Arab neighbors.  Six of the seven costliest hurricanes in U.S. history followed such events. He points out how 3 of the 4 largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history also followed such anti-Zionist developments.  ( Hmm, 9 of 10, 6 of 7, 3 of 4 … So, they were not 10 of 10, 7 of 7 and 4 of 4 … hah, that proves that it’s all “coincidences”!!  Coincidences, coincidences, la, la, la, la, la. )

So, now ‘Hurricane Sandy’ is attacking the American Atlantic coast and threatens to become one of the worst storms in decades, if not of all time.  Because of this the hurricane has been dubbed “Frankenstorm” by some outlets because it was expected to reach the coast close to Halloween and forecast models show – like the Perfect Storm of 1991 – that the tropical cyclone could combine with a winter weather to morph into a so-called “super storm.”

There are reports that governors in states along the U.S. East Coast had declared preparatory emergencies, with officials urging residents to stock up on food, water and batteries, and the U.S. Navy ordered all ships in the Norfolk, Va., area, out to sea to ride out the approaching storm.

Louis Uccellini, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Center for Environmental Prediction, declared that “The circulation of this storm as it approaches the coast could cover about the eastern 1/3 of the United States.”

In that way, the pre-Halloween hurricane has affected the presidential race, too, prompting both Mitt Romney and Vice President Joe Biden to cancel scheduled appearances in Virginia Beach — anyway, everything that they were going to say was a repetition of the same old bunch of deceiving baloney.  So with the early voting already underway in some states, the storm could even affect vote totals — if it is that the elections are going to be legit, something that I, like so many other observers of the American political panorama in the world, do not expect in the very least.

Now, how does “Frankenstorm” tie into the American stance on Israel?  Well, both American political parties have now explicitly accepted a so-called Two-State solution to peace in the Mideast, dividing Israel’s Land between Israel and a new terrorist Muslim Arab “Palestinian” state” — all that with the imperialist arrogance of not aking Israel. ( After all Democracy is just a mere brain-washing lingo to bamboozle the American population but it does not have a true hold in that subtly-enslaved country; have you noticed that only 10% of Congress is not hated by the Americas, but they get “reelected” over and over?  The American elections remind me of those of Cuba, only that the American ones have a more “fun” flavor.  I know, I lived 30 years in both nations. )

Much more than is publicly known, there has been a lot of behind-the-scenes pressure on Israel by the treasonous Obama administration, in regard to not acting upon Iran prior to the election, but the most important aspect of it is that both practically identical parties have officially endorsed the Two-State so-called “solution”.  They both want to see Israel surrendering our Land for a new Arab “Palestinian” terrorist state that would ensure the destruction of Israel; but THAT is exactly what IS prompting these catastrophic weather “Acts of G-d.”  According to Torah, the Land should not be divided, parceled out or negotiated away … period.  This is the Land the Almighty King of Heaven gave to Israel EXCLUSIVELY !!!

Many people say they want peace, sure, but it all comes down to this:  No earthly leader (legal or usurper, foreign or Jewish) has the least right to partition the Jewish Holy Land of Israel, because that was HaShem’s Gift to Avraham avinu and his descendants forever.  It does not matter if they believe it or not, that Fact stays for all time.  In the same way, natural disasters are more often than the world realizes – or admits – Messages from G-d.  Through them He is trying to get our attention all over the world. But are we paying attention and taking heed?  What will it take for us to wake up, WW3?  Well it is already almost on top of our heads, but we are still blind and deaf to the Messages from HaShem.  Will our world have to be turned upside down before we recognize what is happening in front of our noses?  Would even that be enough?

Hey, did America forget what happened to Egypt?  These are just the first ones in a series of undescribable mega-disasters of all sorts that are on the way to that wayward, sinking country.  If America continues its course, it will surely cease being a country, it shall simply cease being.  But other countries, even Israel, will not be spared of the Judgements that HaShem is starting to exert upon all humanity for the disdain that so many exhibit against Him.  Therefore, it is a good time to start thinking in making Tshuvah and get right with HaShem.

Planet Earth may be 4.5 billion years old, but that doesn’t mean it can’t serve up a shattering surprise now and again.

Such was the case on April 11 when two massive earthquakes erupted beneath the Indian Ocean off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, far from the usual danger zones. Now scientists say the seafloor ruptures are part of a long suspected, yet never before observed, event: the slow-motion splitting of a vast tectonic plate.

The first of the quakes, a magnitude 8.7, was 20 times more powerful than California’s long anticipated “big one” and tore a complex network of faults deep in the ocean floor. The violence also triggered unusually large aftershocks thousands of miles away, including four off North America’s western coast.

“It was jaw-dropping,” said Thorne Lay, a professor of Earth and planetary sciences at UC Santa Cruz. “It was like nothing we’d ever seen.”

At first, Lay wondered whether the computer code he used to analyze earthquakes was wrong. Eventually, he and other scientists realized that they had documented the breakup of the Indo-Australian plate into two pieces, an epic process that began roughly 50 million years ago and will continue for tens of millions more. Lay and other scientists reported their findings online Wednesday in the journal Nature.

Most great earthquakes occur along plate borders, where one plate dives beneath the adjoining plate and sinks deep into Earth’s mantle, a process called subduction. The April 11 quakes, however, occurred in the middle of the plate and involved a number of strike-slip faults, meaning the ground on one side of the fault moves horizontally past ground on the other side.

Scientists say the 8.7 main shock broke four faults. The quake lasted 2 minutes and 40 seconds — most last just seconds — and was followed by a second main shock, of magnitude 8.2, two hours later.

Unlike the magnitude 9.1 temblor that struck in the same region on Dec. 26, 2004, and created a deadly tsunami, the April 11 quakes did not cause similar destruction. That’s because horizontally moving strike-slip faults do not induce the massive, vertical displacement of water that thrust faults do on the borders of plates.

The type of interplate faults involved in the Sumatran quakes are the result of monumental forces, some of which drove the land mass of India into Asia millions of years ago and lifted the Himalayan Mountains. As the Indo-Australian plate continues to slide northwest, the western portion of the plate, where India is, has been grinding against and underneath Asia. But the eastern portion of the plate, which contains Australia, keeps on moving without the same obstruction. That difference creates squeezing pressure in the area where the quakes occurred.

The study authors say that over time, as more quakes occur and new ruptures appear, the cracks will eventually coalesce into a single fissure.

“This is part of the messy business of breaking up a plate,” said University of Utah seismologist Keith Koper, senior author of one of the studies. “Most likely it will take thousands of similar large quakes for that to happen.”

The quakes were also notable for triggering powerful aftershocks thousands of miles away. Though major quakes have been known to trigger aftershocks at great distance, they are usually less than 5.5 in magnitude. The April earthquakes triggered 11 aftershocks that measured 5.5 or greater in the six days that followed, including a magnitude 7. Remote shocks were felt 6,000 to 12,000 miles from the main quakes.

Fred Pollitz, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, Calif., and lead author of one of the studies, said the quakes were extremely effective in transmitting seismic wave radiation around the world. Though Pollitz said the magnitude of the larger Sumatran quake is No. 10 on the list of quakes since 1900, no other temblor has triggered so many strong aftershocks so far away.

“It’s the most powerful earthquake ever in terms of capability of putting stress on other fault zones around the world,” he said.

Pollitz said the quakes were likely to teach seismologists about the physics of earthquakes, particularly those along strike-slip faults. That knowledge, he said, would certainly apply to California’s San Andreas fault, which is also a strike-slip fault.

Lay said that the Sumatran quakes were most surprising in that they were completely unanticipated by seismologists and that he did not expect the event to repeat any time soon.

Genocide is neither linear nor “inexorable.” It is, rather, predictable and preventable, so long as you recognize the universal signs. And Iran, in its language and action, has taken six of the eight steps on the path to genocide, according to Dr. Gregory Stanton, the world’s foremost  expert on the matter.

Stanton, the founder and director of Genocide Watch, the world’s first organization to deal exclusively with this issue, and the author of an historic two-page paper on the nature of genocide, spoke at the Hebrew University medical school last week. He called for an international campaign to abolish the recurring crime of genocide and for the world to take action, as Canada has, to ostracize Iran and curb its genocidal intent.

Talk of genocide, Stanton said — of removing a cancer or crushing a cockroach — is never just talk. “One of the best predictors of genocide is incitement to genocide,” he said, “and I believe that is exactly what Iran is doing today.”

Encouraging genocide is a crime. The UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide was signed in 1948 and fathered by Raphael Lemkin, a Jewish Polish lawyer who studied the genocide of the Armenians and invented the term in 1943 – “genos” meaning race or people and “cide” to kill. The Convention states that incitement “with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group” is illegal.

Late last week, on precisely those grounds, Canada severed its ties with Iran. John Baird, the minister of foreign affairs, announced that the Iranian regime “engages in racist anti-Semitic rhetoric and incitement to genocide.”

He gave Iranian diplomats five days to leave the country.

Stanton and Dr. Elihu Richter, a professor emeritus at the Hebrew University’s medical school and the founder of the Jerusalem Center for Genocide Prevention, both hailed the decision.

Richter called it “mighty” and said that the Canadian declaration “sets a powerful precedent for intervening to prevent genocide and genocidal terror by going at the early predictive causes and catalysts, rather than waiting for the body count.”

The two are seeking to drag Iran before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, where state actors can prosecute one another. Neither the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs nor the Prime Minister’s Office could confirm whether Israel had encouraged Canada to file charges against Iran for incitement to genocide.

The Predictable Pattern

Recognizing the early signs, spotlighting them and prosecuting those encouraging the killings are some of the ways to prevent a genocide. Ignoring them, dismissing them as diabolical rhetoric or as a tactic meant to advance a different goal, is to enable the perpetrators, Stanton said.

Often, genocide goes unrecognized. In the opening slide of Stanton’s lecture three perplexed diplomats, clutching attaché cases that label them as representing the EU, the US and the UN, look around at a patch of desert, Darfur, that is stained with the bodies of the dead.  “Well…” says one; “Genocide, genocide…” says another; “Difficult question…” says the third.

Over the years Stanton realized that all genocides follow eight stages. They are, in this order: classification, symbolization, dehumanization, organization, polarization, preparation, extermination and denial.  He said:

Iran has classified and symbolized Israel through exclusionary ideology and hate speech; dehumanized it – “overcoming the normal human revulsion against murder” — by portraying the potential victims as a “cancer” in need of eradication; organized fanatical militias (the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps); polarized the society by repressing dissent and arresting moderates;  prepared for the killing by denying a past genocide and by constructing weapons of mass destruction; and, through global terrorism, even begun the seventh of his eight stages: extermination.

In the past century alone there have been 55 genocides, leaving 70 million people dead, Stanton said. The Armenians, the Jews and the Tutsi of Rwanda were the rare examples of one group’s campaign to destroy another group in its entirety, he said; more often, the case is that one group seeks to partially eradicate another– perhaps the educated classes or those living in a certain geographic region. For instance, in 1971, Pakistani forces killed somewhere between 300,000 and three million Bangladeshis. They did not seek to annihilate all Hindus in what was then known as East Pakistan, but the crime, Stanton said, must be considered a genocide.

The Call to Service

Stanton, a small-town Illinois native and the son of a Presbyterian pastor, realized he had to devote his life to the prevention of genocide in 1981, while sitting in the office of a Yale psychiatrist.

A graduate of the Harvard Divinity School with a PhD in cultural anthropology from the University of Chicago, he was in his second year at Yale Law School, recently back from a year in Cambodia, where he had worked for the Church World Service, bringing relief to the victims of the Khmer Rouge. He and his wife had adopted a daughter there and he should have been happy, he said, but instead he had slipped into a deep depression. His wife insisted he see a psychiatrist, who asked what was bothering him. He told of the mass graves and the survivor testimonies and the little corpse in the tattered Mickey Mouse t-shirt.

The doctor told him that if he weren’t depressed there would be something wrong with him. The doctor added that he, like many others who have studied depression, feel it is a form of repressed anger. “Then he looked at me and said: ‘What are you angry about?’” Stanton recalled.

Stanton’s response: the fact that the Khmer Rouge had organized and perpetrated the killing of 1.7 million Cambodians and still remained in power.

From that moment on the prevention of genocide became his life’s work. He founded the Cambodia Genocide Project and spent decades pushing for the indictment of those responsible. He helped establish the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and was awarded the American Foreign Service Association’s W. Averell Harriman Award for “intellectual courage and creative accomplishment.”

Nonetheless, in the late nineties, he was fired from the State Department. His supervisor, frustrated with his efforts to document what he called “the appalling cowardice” of the US State Department in April 1994 — when it voted to withdraw all UNAMIR peacekeepers in Rwanda in the face of a mounting genocide — wrote the type of evaluation that he knew would eventually terminate his career. “Greg apparently does not understand that the State Department is a hierarchical organization,” he quoted, with obvious pleasure, during the lecture.

Before leaving the State Department, he wrote the two-page paper that is at the heart of his presentation and work.

Since then, Stanton, a descendant of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Henry Brewster Stanton – a founder of the woman’s liberation movement and an abolitionist – has founded the International Campaign to End Genocide.  It rests on two fundamental principles:  that genocide is “unlike a hurricane” and therefore predictable, and that the phenomenon has become wretchedly common.

“It’s like slavery,” he said, “a giant elephant in the room that everyone is ignoring.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Makes The Case Of Israel Against Iran

Having been insolently rebuffed again by Obama last week,
the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu took to the airwaves
in the United States on Sunday to warn the endangered American people
that Iran is only six or seven months from having “90 percent”
of what it needs to make an atomic bomb.

Netanyahu received criticism — from political enemies, of course — for similar remarks last week, because they said they were seen as an effort to put pressure on Muslim Israel-hater Obama to act more forcefully against Iran.  So, less than two months before Election Day, he turned to the weekly platform for American politics — the Sunday morning political talk shows — to make his legitimate case on behalf of the survival of the nation of Israel more urgently and specifically than ever to a wider American audience, whose government and media are constantly deceiving them.

He repeated his valid warning that the only way to stop Iran was for the United States to draw a distinct “red line” on that country’s nuclear activity and declare that crossing it would trigger military intervention.  He also offered his most explicit description to date of the level of nuclear development that he would regard as particularly dangerous: one bomb’s worth of medium-enriched uranium, a level that would take Iran close to a bomb but would still require additional work to make a weapon.

He implied that Iran would cross that line soon. “You know, they’re in the last 20 yards, and you can’t let them cross that goal line,” Bibi said on the NBC News program “Meet the Press,” displaying his familiarity with American football, another Sunday ritual there.

“You can’t let them score a touchdown, because that would have unbelievable consequences, grievous consequences for the peace and security of us all, of the world really.”

Many Americans are so deeply bamboozled by their prostituted corporative media and misgovernment that they think if Iran ever gets nukes only Israel would be their target!

Iran, which shamelessly denies that it is pursuing nuclear weapons, warned on Sunday that it would retaliate across the region if it came under attack — even to those that would have nothing to do with the attack! — thus giving a clear idea of how things would be when they get nuclear.

The warnings and threats came after a tumultuous and violent week in the Middle East, which left the pro-Islamic Obama administration reeling at times and straining to offer a semblance of sustainable relations with two countries that have long been viewed as pillars of stability in the region, Israel and Egypt.

On several Sunday shows, Susan E. Rice, the Obama’s regime representative at the United Nations, sought to defend the US misadministration’s handling of each relationship. She cynically said that the United States “cooperates closely” with Israel, BUT believed there was time for more diplomacy and sanctions in the case of Iran.  Of course, in the case of Islamist-controlled Egypt, she argued against cutting the annual $1.5 billion in American assistance an action that some have urged in the wake of the storming of the American Embassy in Cairo last week.  This assistance $1.5 billion is foremost military and obviously targeted against Israel.

“We think that despite this very bumpy path we’re on, and the very disturbing images we’ve seen, it’s in the United States’ fundamental interest that people have the ability to choose their own governments — that these governments be democratic and free,” Ms. Rice said on “Meet the Press.” “That’s in our long-term best interest. We need to reinforce that with our assistance.”  Of course, she ignored the fact that in free elections the Muslim Arabs always elect the most terrorist prone governments they can find, as is the case of Hamas in Gaza and recently in Egypt.

Democracy is execrated by the immense majority of Muslims; they prefer Shariah for dealing with the interior matters and terrorism for foreign affairs.  The American and European politicians know this exactly well.  The people of America and Europe are too dumb down to realize that not everyone in the world sees life and government like they do.  They idiotically think that what is good and comfortable for them has got to be good and comfortable for everybody else.  Such is the stupid arrogance that always ends up by destroying all empires in history.

The protests, which were inspired by an American-made funny video denigrating the false “prophet” Muhammad, spread from Cairo to Libya, where the American ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans were killed after having been mass sodomized — something much repeated all along history and shushed by the media and the school system, but very telling of the true nature of Islam.  (It comes to mind Khadafi and Lawrence of Arabia, just to mention two cases).

Since the anti-Islam video, the protests have spread to nearly two dozen countries and have forced the US State Department to evacuate all but emergency staff members from its embassies in Sudan and Tripoli, Libya, on Saturday, though the violence of the demonstrations appeared to be subsiding.  Although the US State Department suspiciously let the tragedy in Lybia take place, since they knew three days in advance, and from several sources that the preprogrammed attack was to happen.

Netanyahu, who also appeared on the CNN program “State of the Union” on Sunday, linked the violence with Iran’s nuclear ambitions, arguing that Iran’s leaders are driven by the same fanaticism that enrages the savage protesters.

Israel was probably the third country, after America and the late USSR to have its own nuclear weapons arsenal — that is, since the lows 1960’s, even before the glorious Six Day War of 1967 — but the Israeli governments since then have never publicly acknowledged it, much less have they threatened to use them.  Despite that, MAD is a fact because “Never Again” will we Jews go down to be easily exterminated, like we were in the Nazi Holocaust; so, better not corner us!  For the sake of world peace and world survival:  Don’t corner us.  That is why everyone in the world should heed to what Bibi is asking.  Why allowing a lethal situation to arrive — unnecesarily! — to a point that should never arrive?  Netanyahu said on CNN:

“All the things that you see now in these mobs storming the American Embassies is what you will see with a regime that would have atomic bombs.  You can’t have such people have atomic bombs!”

It’s that so difficult to understand?

In Iran, the highest Commander of the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, took the unusual step of holding a news conference on Sunday to warn that “nothing will remain” in Israel if it or any other nation launches attacks against his country.

So, even if we do not do anything against them, we shall be utterly incinerated!  Now, who would stand for such a threat?  For America it was enough the hearsay that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction to sent the Marines and take him down, killing in the process close to one million civilians!

Netanyahu added that Iran and its allies — meaning Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza — would retaliate at Israel’s borders, as would Iran itself in Israel and beyond, targeting American military bases in the Persian Gulf and shutting down the Strait of Hormuz.  Iran has often threatened to counter any attack, but the general’s threats were unusually specific and signaled Iran’s intent to turn any possible attack into a regional conflict of major proportions.  General Jafari said, according to an account by The Associated Press:

“Our response to Israel is clear: I think nothing will remain of Israel.  Given Israel’s small land area and its vulnerability to a massive volume of Iran’s missiles, I don’t think any spot in Israel will remain safe.”

Observe that when Israel talks about attacking Iran it is always made very clear that the attack is solely intended against the Iranian military and the nuclear sites.  These barbaric Muslims always talk very openly that their intent is to destroy the civilian population of Israel.  This is why we will have to eventually nuke them all, sooner or later, because they will attempt to exterminate us all and we are surely not going to allow such a Islamic wet dream.  This is precisely what Netanyahu is trying to prevent by destroying that they have the capability of putting us in front of such inevitable decision if the survival of our nation is at stake.  Oy, but Obama evidently has the same wet dream as Iran; and that is the classical wrench in the gears that we are witnessing.

Iranian General Jafari also confirmed, in what appeared to be the clearest terms so far, that some high-level advisers from his elite unit were working in Syria and Lebanon, underscoring how deeply intertwined the many conflicts in the region have become, and how easily the ticking bomb could explode.

The United States and Israel have cooperated closely over most security matters for years, including Iran’s nuclear efforts, but Mr. Netanyahu’s remarks over the last week underscored his desire that the administration act more forcefully with Iran.  The security situation would be intolerable with the cooperation of the secret services of Israel; but the befuddled American people ignore that and think that it is because of the intelligent action of their highly monetized and corrupted secret agents.  Americans also tend to forget things like when the First Gulf War the American government asked us not to retaliate if Saddam would attack us with his Scud missiles because they needed the help of the Arabs to fight Saddam.  Well, 39 Scuds fell and we contained ourselves for friendship toward America, but now America  is turning her back on Israel.  O well, HaShem will pass a very heavy Bill, and Iran might be one of the collectors.

Netanyahu also highlighted his evident personal estrangement with Obama.  The two spoke by telephone on Tuesday after Netanyahu’s first remarks.

While the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency have cited Iranian efforts to accelerate work on enriching uranium, American officials lied saying “there is no hard and clear evidence that Iran has resumed work on the military components necessary to build a Bomb!”

Reality is that Iran possesses enough low-enriched uranium to make five or six nuclear weapons, but that process would be lengthy.  Netanyahu is particularly concerned about a new line of production of uranium largely being conducted in a deep underground site apparently invulnerable to an Israeli attack.  Iran is expected to have roughly a bomb’s worth of that medium-enriched uranium within half a year.

Despite Netanyahu’s assurance that Iran is close to developing a nuclear weapons capacity, American officials have said “there would still be time for the United States and others to detect and, if necessary, respond to an effort to move from merely enriching to constructing a bomb.”  But the evident problem is that there is no worse blind person than the one that doesn’t want to see anything.

The differences between Netanyahu and Obama were fully on display on Sunday when Ms. Rice shamelessly argued that “international diplomacy and economic sanctions were having an impact on Iran and should be given time to work.”  But that “impact” must be the most profound secret in the world because it’s nowhere to be found.  The fact is that despite of all the “diplomacy” and “sanctions” Iran is closer than ever to the Bomb and the world to World War Three.

She said, referring to the American assessment of where Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions stand:

“They are not there yet.  They are not there yet, and our assessment is — and we share this regularly with our Israeli counterparts in the intelligence and defense community — that there is time and space for the pressure we are mounting, which is unprecedented in terms of sanctions, to still yield results.”

Mr. Netanyahu insisted that he was not trying to influence American politics. He expressed respect for Obama’s evident false vow not to allow Iran to acquire an atomic bomb.

Asked specifically if he felt that Obama’s Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, would take a firmer stand toward Iran, Mr. Netanyahu demurred.  Mr. Romney and Mr. Netanyahu, who are friends, worked together briefly in the 1970s at Boston Consulting Group.  He said:

“What’s guiding my statements is not the American political calendar but the Iranian nuclear calendar.”

Based upon the evident fact that Obama is a constant liar, and a shady man committed the Muslim cause of world conquest or Caliphate, and also based upon what our Holy Prophets predicted concerning these current affairs, my prediction is that:

1. Bibi’s best efforts to halt Iran from producing Nukes shall flatly fail.  The American government is bent to use Islam as a lance tower pushing humanity toward the New World Order.  On the other hand, sadly, the American public only care about their own finances and how to have more fun; they are too demoralized to care and too cowardly to do what is right and needed.  Obama and his evil handlers know this very well and because of it they act increasingly brazenly.
2. B. Hussein Obama shall be reelected, and not only shall not prevent any Muslim country from doing as they wish, but he will unleash a fierce persecution against the American Jews whose majority, up to this moment, are so enraptured by him.  Toward such a purpose he may produce a false flag operation that he would blame them for,
3. In the next few weeks, or not long after Obama’s reelection, Israel shall find herself alone in a fierce battle for survival that shall cause us to destroy all our neighboring countries because we shall be badly hurt and in despair for national survival,
4. HaShem will pass a drastic Judgment upon America for all the Jewish blood spilled on account of her betrayal.  So then, America will be attacked and utterly destroyed by Iran, Russia, China, Korea and others minor, but no less evil players players, like Cuba and Venezuela, as well as by enormous natural cataclysms.

It is Erev Rosh Hashanah and the Jewish year 5773 (2012 to 2013) is just about to begin in a few hours, and that brings to mind that we are in the midst of a Shmitah (Sabbatical Week of Years) while portentous Events and Moments appear to now be upon us.

The Islam-bent American White House is quickly disengaging itself from the Netanyahu government as the 44^th President of the United States tries to recoup momentum to keep the seat of the Oval Office.  At the same time, Obama’s top military official, Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on August 30, after visiting with Netanyahu, stated; “I don’t want to be complicit if they (Israel) choose to do it” – meaning attacking Iran.  With the deciding vote in November for who will be the 45^th President may virtually hang on the swing vote of the Jewish American voters, the die is being cast for both America and Israel.  As DebkaFiles wrote:

“President Barack Obama’s refusal Tuesday Sept. 11 to see Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu because “the president’s schedule will not permit that,” left Jerusalem thunderstruck – and Washington too.  At one stroke, round after round of delicate negotiations on Iran between the White House, Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, the US National Security Council, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta collapsed.  They had aimed at an agreement on a starting point for the meeting that had been fixed between the two leaders for Sept. 28 in New York to bridge their differences over an attack on Iran’s nuclear program.”

As the diplomatic discussions continued to unfold for the last possible meeting between Netanyahu and Obama was slated for September 28, on Tishri 14 after Iran President Ahmadinejad is scheduled to speak at the United Nations on the Yom Kippur, the Great Day of Judgment, the stage is being set for the G-d of Israel to step into the world diplomatic ring and begin the final acts of judgment upon Planet Earth.  Then the clincher was revealed by DebkaFiles:

“Although the Israeli presidency is a largely titular function, Peres has elected himself senior spokesman for the opponents of an Israeli military operation against Iran.  While their advisers sought to establish agreed lines between them ahead of Netanyahu’s meeting with Obama, debkafile reports that the confrontation between the two Israeli politicians ended inconclusively, because Peres kept on demanding that the prime minister bend to the will of the White House.”

The Vatican’s P2 Masonic Lodge representative to the State of Israel sitting as the President of Israel has now joined the diplomatic discussion table, giving the final vote of the Vatican to the discussions on whether to strike Iran or not.  Then Barry Chamish jumped into the fray in April, 2012, with this article titled; “Out of Israel, the next Exodus”, we read these words:

“Not two months ago, the head of military intelligence for the IDF, Aviv Kochavi felt he had to tell the public a painful truth.  Israel’s enemies, presumably not Egypt or Jordan, had 200,000 missiles aimed at everywhere in the country. In the next war, unlike the disastrous war of ’06 which saw literally, the entire north driven south by the missiles, this time there would be nowhere to run.

[ Obviously, faithless Chamish forgets that HaShem IS the best Refuge there is.  Actually, for Israel, He is the only proven Defense and worthy Hope; not even the IDF is to be trusted completely for our defense. ]

So scared is this settler-less staff, that less than a month before they let Hamas rain over 300 rockets in 4 days from Rishon Letzion east to Be’er Sheva. The army, overwhelmed with fear that any retaliation might spark a full scale war it would lose, sat on its hands comatose.

There is a threat that Israel has let its enemies know that, so far, has kept the next war in check. In Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and Iran, they have decided not to order the missile war ignited because Israel has threatened a kamikaze nuclear ending. Any rational person knows that Damascus cannot be destroyed by an Israeli nuke. It would be the same as nuking yourself.

Located just 10 miles from the Golan Heights, if you destroy Damascus, no matter which way the wind may be blowing, the Golan and the upper Galilee would be irradiated within minutes. The same goes for Sidon, Tyre, and Gaza.  If you start the next war, we will lose, but you’re going down with us.  We will nuke you to oblivion, so don’t do anything stupid.”

So, Israel is at one of those critical existential moments.  The choice is to go alone — even if still doing it in the company of other countries, which means to be without the protecting Hand of the G-d of Israel — or to “call upon the Name of Hashem” as the Lord of the Legions, the invincible Leader of Forces of Heaven.  The terrible part is that many Israelis and Jews in Galut do not really trust Him when He says, “Call upon Me and I will answer.”

This is the scenario we currently have — at least the one we can see.

Any Jew who will not immediately return to Israel will not survive in the war of Redemption because G-d will soon repay the Gentiles for their bad deeds toward the Jews all along the history.  Any Jew who will stay abroad will not be protected!  He will be lost together with the Gentiles around him!

Take care of your wives as queens!  Take care of homeless animals!

To sum it up:  The Moshiach will soon be revealed in any case — with or without “your help”!  Following the dramatic events that will soon occur in the world, there will not be even one person who will not shout for G-d’s Help!   Why shout to G-d in hospitals, or after an earthquake, or after missiles attacks, when already it’s too late?!  Why not to spend money for advertising Moshiach, rather than spending money on mourning advertising?

Moshiach does not need you.  You are the one who needs Moshiach and G-d’s Help — most of all in the Gog and Magog period — in the great and horrifying Judgment Day of G-d which is ahead!

If you’re reading this, then you are connected to the internet and there is no way that you can not have heard about the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.  Supposedly, this was the result of “spontaneous” riots which broke out in response to an anti-Islam film which was attributed to an “Israeli Jew living in California.”  In Cairo, also, riots broke out near the embassy and the US flag was burned and replaced with an Islamic one.

Within twenty-four hours, however, new reports have emerged that a group of Egyptian Christians were responsible for the film and serious questions have been raised about how “spontaneous” the reaction really was.

Today, the situation is very fluid.  The US State Dept has issued a travel advisory for American citizens:

…Embassies in Armenia, Burundi, Egypt, Kuwait, Sudan, Tunisia and Zambia all issued warnings on Wednesday that don’t report any specific threat but note that demonstrations can become violent and advise Americans in those countries to be particularly vigilant….

There are reports that rioting is continuing in Egypt and has spread to Yemen, Bangladesh, Tunisia and Morocco.

In response to the murders in Libya, the US is sending in two warships carrying Tomahawk cruise missiles.

And lest we forget, there is still the situation with Syria and Iran which deteriorates by the day.

As if this were not enough, we’ve got a talking head at NBC asking a representative of the group who made the anti-Islam film who is really more dangerous to the world, the “Supreme Leader” in Tehran or “Bibi” Netanyahu?! He went on to say that the only way to get along with Netanyahu is to agree with everything he says.

The New Yorker took its cheap shot, too “High-handed,” “arrogant,” “dangerous” – these are just a few of the personality traits of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, if the editor of the New Yorker, David Remnick, is to be believed. In an op-ed piece on the magazine’s web site. Remnick laces into Netanyahu as a “dangerous neocon” whose aim is, “to embolden and elevate the reactionary forces in Israel, to eliminate the dwindling possibility of a just settlement with the Palestinians, and to isolate his country on the world diplomatic stage.”

The scary part is not that people say these things, it’s that they say them openly and unabashedly.  There is no shame in it and this bodes ill for Jews in chu”l particularly.

We are living in generally scary times and it’s getting worse.  We’re more informed than ever, and yet we have no idea what can be believed.  Some illusory people say the relationship between the US and Israel may or may not be as tenuous as reported.  Some have hypothesized that the ‘bad blood’ between the Obama and the Israeli Prime Minister could all be a magnificent act meant to fool the leadership of Iran while they secretly plot its downfall together.

Still others more realistically think the Libya attack might be a False-Flag event intended to cover up the real reason for warships in the Mediterranean:  An invasion of Israel meant to cut her down to size and prevent her from putting the whole world at risk with her insistent demand that Iran be denied nuclear power.

[ At this point, we should have into account that “the US State Department – that notorious nest of poisonous vipers – was warned that the embassy would be attacked 48 hours ahead of time. But both Obama and Hillary Clinton decided to laid low, be quiet and do nothing.” until after the now obvious pre-arranged assault of the always brutal Muslim mob.  Although they now act very surprised and indignant, they consciously sacrificed their own embassador and three more peons for the sake of something which we shall see in the next few days or weeks.  Like evil Rham Emmanuel, a best friend of nefarious Obama, once said:  “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”  This was another obvious False Flag Operation of the American goverment, carried on 11 years to the date of the other False Flag Operation on 9/11 2001.  Coincidence?  Again!!!  For dishonest fools everyting that scares them is “just a coincidence.” Oh well…]

Only HaShem knows what’s really going on.  It’s up to us to have faith in Him that He does everything for our very best and He is the One ultimately in control.  The power of life and death are in His hands alone.

However, it’s worth noting that it is highly significant that this escalation started on 9/11, that is, on the eleventh anniversary of the destruction of the Twin Towers.  The number 11 is itself highly significant.

The number eleven, which is how many spices there were in the Ketores, at first seems rather odd. However, Kabbalistically it is a number of tremendous importance for it alludes to one of the most prized possessions in all of history: Da’at Elohim (Godly-Knowledge).

It is well-known that there are only ten fixed Sefirot: Keser, Chochmah, Binah, Chesed, Gevurah, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut (Crown, Wisdom, Understanding, Kindness, Strength, Harmony, Dominance, Glory, Foundation, and Kingship). They are, for all intents and purposes, the spiritual DNA for all of existence, and the filters through which the G-d of Light passes to make it all exist and happen.

Kabbalah explains that there is actually an 11th sefirah. However, because it is really the product of other sefirot and subject to Movement, meaning that it can come and go based upon the efforts of man, it is more like a pseudo-sefirah, though its centrality is not to be under-estimated. (In truth, Da’at is what the light of Keser becomes after being filtered through Chochmah and Binah, which is why it is not really counted independently, but that is already a discussion that goes above our heads.)

Brushing aside the details, Da’at means one thing and one thing only: Redemption. The more of this light that exists in the world, the more Redemption will become a real and fixed reality, which is why the prophets describe Yemot HaMoshiach as a time when the world will be filled with Da’at, just as Betzalel was to construct the Mishkan, a microcosm of the entire universe in perfection, as the Zohar said….

The golden calf represents the other extreme – the world without Da’at, a forerunner of modern Western Society. (Ow! The truth hurts.)

The Parah Adumah, the subject of this week’s special Maftir, of course is the tikun for the golden calf, and therefore an expression of this very concept. (See Rashi at the beginning of Parashat Chukat.)

Thus, there are some very famous elevens through history, and they are all associated with this concept of Da’at. For example, Yosef was the 11th son born to Ya’akov, the one through whom the Hand of G-d became clear and from whom Moshiach ben Yosef will descend to help us across the threshold into Moshiach’s Time.

However, perhaps the most famous 11 is the Gematria of the letters “Vav-Heh” from G-d’s Tetragrammaton Name, purposely left out at the end of Parashat Beshallach when G-d swears there will be war against Amalek until the end of history. The Name of HaShem that represents this reality is “Elohim.” Once Amalek is finally snuffed out in Moshiach’s Time, they will return and G-d’s Name will once again be one. However, until such time it is as if they remain hidden, like the hand of G-d itself in the affairs of man, allowing Gevurot and Amalek to do their thing. And just as that first 9/11 led to war on Hoshanah Rabbah 5762, the events which began on this 9/11 may finish that war on Hoshanah Rabbah 5773.

We will have to watch this play out over the days to come, but I have the feeling that events might converge and cascade until we could have a real shot at Gog uMagog on Hoshanah Rabbah 5773 just as predicted.  If so, then history may very well show in the end that the Redemption began right at the closing of the year 5772.

May each one of us be inscribed and sealed for life and health and a future.  May each one of us live and survive to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu and merit to live in days of Moshiach and the rebuilt Beit HaMikdash in Peace, Love and Joy.

What Everyone Needs To Know The Most
Regarding The End Of Days

And call upon Me in the Day of Distress.  I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

Only a self-deceiving idiot can truly believe that we are living in regular, normal times that are just as any other moment in history with their regular ups and downs.  Without any doubt, it is absolutely necessary to have totally shut down all our HaShem-given receptors so as not to be constantly reminded that ‘something very Big is afoot‘.  We are incessantly bombarded with all kinds of news, and even personal experiences, that clearly indicate the imminent arrival in the near future of some extraordinary and significant Change of Course for humanity, and even Nature itself.  By the “near future” bit I mean that if it does not take place in the next few weeks or months, it shall happen within very few years.  Most people perceive and call this change of human course, Doomsday. We religious Jews see these as Signs as an indication that  Geulah (Redemption) is finally coming our way.

If we set apart what our Holy Prophets and Sages predicted and commented about the End of Days, we would also surely be expecting Doomsday, i.e., the End of the World — or, at least, the end of humanity upon the face of the Earth.  But since the Jewish Prophets were so extensive and sometimes clear in reference to these Last Days, there is no reason for helpless despair or defeated anticipation of Doom in what we see happening and coming.  Yes, it is true that there is Doom coming for some, or many, people — including among them Jews — but there is a sure Pathway of Escape.  And this world will not be destroyed; on the contrary, it shall surely be drastically changed for the immensely better!

All the dumbfounding fuss and atrocious pain we see in the news, and which we may even be enduring in our own lives, is because this world is pregnant.  It is pregnant because it was raped by Sin since its very beginning.  Notwithstanding, after all this tiresome pain that we all are enduring — and after the Great Last Collective Pain that is yet to fall upon our world, Gog uMagog — HaShem will turn our seeming final defeat into the most awesome and joyful Victory.  It is only then that the “baby” will be born.  And who is this “baby to be born”?  It is the peaceful Messianic Era under the Kingdom of Justice led by Moshiach ben David.  You see, the problem is that before any birth — no matter how beautiful and healthy the baby might be — there is inevitably a terrible period of great danger, fear and pain.

At any rate, every Jew — and also non-Jew — who will call upon the Name of HaShem will come out of the Last Ordeal of humanity miraculously untouched,  while awakening to the Light of the for-so-long-awaited Redemption, as it is written in,

Yoel 3.5

5  And it shall come to pass, that whoever will call upon the Shem (Name) of the L- rd shall be saved, because in Mount Tziyon, and in Yerushalayim, there shall be Deliverance as HaShem has said, and in the seridim (remnant, survivors) whom HaShem shall call.

But what does “calling upon the Name of HaShem” mean after all?

The Name of HaShem goes beyond His Most Holy Way to be Called.  In Judaism,  the name of any individual has a great importance,  because it is supposed to declare characteristics of that person.  It is because of this, for example, that we see in Torah that HaShem changed the name of Avram to Avraham, Sarai to Sarah, and later on the name of Ya’akov was change into Yisrael.  For instance, in reference to Avraham, Rashi explains that,

“G-d changed Avram’s name to Avraham, a contraction representing his new status as Av Hamon — Father of a Multitude — whereas the name Avram represented his former status as only Av Aram — Father of Aram — his native country.”

So, we see that once HaShem altered and expanded the status of Avram, He changed his name to reflect this new characteristic.  Therefore, the name of an individual should inform us about how he or she is.

Now, what Status or Characteristics adorn the King of Heaven, blessed be He?  Such most admirable Qualities, or truly amazing Attributes, are comprised in HaShem’s Holy Name.  That is why we call him regularly ‘HaShem’ meaning ‘The Name’ since in His Name are encapsulated all His Wonderful Characteristics or Traits.  That is why our tradition makes the Holy Tetragrammaton unutterable, due to our great Respect for His Holy and Sacred Characteristics.  Actually that is also why He is called by different Names throughout Tanakh, to reflect and call our attention to His different Characteristics and Status.

So, upon which of His many Names should we call for Help on the future Day of His Wrath and the consequential time of our greatest need?  We need to understand this:  That Day  shall be when the proverbial hell will break loose upon the whole world. It will be a Time such as humanity has never faced before, when an enormous danger of total and complete extinction will engulf the planet.  For details on this, see Ezekiel 38 and 39, among many other places in Tanakh.

I’m sorry for having to scare you with this now inevitable Reality of our near future —since there is an increasing reticence in the Jewish nation to make Tshuva (Repentance) in a great scale.  But please pay attention — and pay attention very well — because only a Miracle from HaShamayim (Heaven, i.e. Him!) shall be able to save anyone at all on that Day.  Such a Miracle will be needed because it will not only be that we shall see ourselves in the midst of an all-out nuclear war, but Nature itself shall “go bonkers” as part of the Judgment of HaShem upon this perennially sinful and consistently rebellious world.

So, allow me to continue scaring you just for a moment, and then you shall see that there is no reason to despair.  In case that you think that the initial activation of so many volcanoes, supervolcanoes (which are immensely worse) and tectonic faults currently throwing tantrums is just a haphazard issue … well, think again.

HaShem is setting His natural Pieces in the necessary position to give this planet an unavoidable Checkmate.  But, take courage, we do not have to perish with it.  Just let us continue for a moment with the bad and ugly stuff.  For example, HaShem has several supervolcanoes in America ready for action — and only one would destroy the country for the most part — The San Andreas Fault and her many evil sisters are also ready to, at any given moment, give a lethal hit to all the Western Coast the US. Meanwhile, the even more dangerous Madrid Fault, located in the very center of the nation, is showing signs of instability.  Finally, in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, in front of the Western coast of Africa, in the island of La Palma which belongs to the Canary Islands archipelago, is found possibly the worst natural threat in this world, the “Cumbre Vieja” volcano.

In 1948 — the same year in which Israel was reborn, and the End of Days Clock started ticking — a third of the island crumbled away and started rolling toward the abysmal depths of the surrounding ocean … then, it stopped and became a ticking mega-bomb.  When “Cumbre Vieja” finally has it’s inevitable “decent-sized” eruption, a chunk of the island of La Palma will plunge into the Atlantic Ocean, thus provoking a one-kilometer high, 600-800 km/h mega-tsunami — much greater than anything known in human history since the Flood.  This cataclysmic event shall completely devastate dozens of miles inland (destroying entire major cities) from Canada all the way down to Brazil.  Mind you, scientists say that this is not a matter of “if” but of “when,” and the “when” part: depends absolutely on HaShem.

But America is not alone in the department of serious danger.  The whole planet is facing the Wrath of the Almighty.  Survival is only contingent on His Decision, and His Decision depends, not only on our words and actions, but on our inner attitude toward Him and other humans NOW.  You see, this is the right moment when we can, out of humble obedience and respect for His Status and Characteristics, demonstrate that we really care about Him and His Name — the very Name upon which we could be saved in the Day of our worst terror and despairing need.  But if we do not pay much — or worse yet ‘any’ — attention to His Name now, would it be valid when things go really” south” to then call upon his Name for salvation?  No chance!  Selfishness and opportunism are not viewed well at all in the Heavenly Court, as it says in Job 22.29:

It is absolutely important to understand that at the moment of utmost danger and greatest need, it would be to our advantage to have a record previously established that we remember that only HaShem is the One Above Us All, and Everything, that he is the only Master of our Lives and the unique Decider of our deaths; that only He is the King of the World, our sole Creator, our exclusive Provider, as well as our only Supreme Judge, our exclusive Savior.  All that is part of His Wonderful Name to be called upon for salvation.  But not only that, He is absolutely Perfect, Just and Fair, Benevolent, but also a Severe Punisher of our sins, rebellions and of all those who disdain His Name and pretend to ignore His unparalleled Lofty Position in the universe.  But to those of humble heart, who recognize his Magnificence, to those, He is a sure Deliverer and Savior,as it says:

Iyob (Job) 22.21-23 & 29
21  Acquaint yourself with Him now, so that you may have Peace; because of that, Goodness shall come to you.  22  Receive, now, Instruction from His Mouth, and lay down His Words in your heart. 23  If you return to The Almighty you shall be restored.  If you shall put away iniquity far from your tents.  …  29  When they are cast down, you shall say, “Arise!”  And  He shall save the one with humility.

 But how could HaShem save anyone from and all nuclear conflagration, and erupting supervolcanoes, tectonic faults cracking up all over, and mega-tsunamies?  He can because part of the Meaning of His Name is Almighty and another part is Savior.  We all need Emunah (Faith) to believe that He is Willing and Able to save from the most horrendous situations — those people whom HE deems worthy.  Without such humble faith in His Royal Decisions we doom ourselves to destruction, defeat and pain, as it says:

4  Hinei (Lo), he whose nashamah (soul) is puffed up is not upright with Him, but the tzaddik (righteous) shall live by his Emunah (Faith).

 OK, fine, but in what practical manner can He save those who call upon His Name in that Day and those who previously had humbled themselves to Him?

Well, he tells us how in,

 Isaiah 43.2-3

2  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.  When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, neither the flame shall kindle upon you.  3  Because I am the L-ord your G-d, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.

Enough said?  Water?  Fire?  No problem!  For Him, that is, because He is the Creator of all the elements in the Universe, because He is the Master of all the Laws of Nature which He established; He can overrule them. He can handle mega-earthquakes, mega-volcanoes, mega-tsunamies, and mega-everything easily.  He is the Almighty!  He is not like you or me; that is frail mortals, partly-material beings of very restricted capabilities.  He Who is much vaster than all the existing space and time in the Multiverse, Who created and transcends all the existing dimensions of matter, energy and spirit, if so He wants He can save you or me.  And so He will do IF we are NOW living as He wishes that we do, not as we imagine He wants.  What He wants?  He wants and demands:  Anavah (Humility, Modesty), Tshuvah (Repentance), Emunah (Trusting Faith), Ahavah (Love, for Him and others), Chesed (Charity) and Ma’asim Tovim (Good Deeds).

It sound too much and too difficult, but it is not if we humble ourselves in front of His Name.  The Name that we shall invoke to be saved one the Day that is rushing toward our encounter.

I truly wish that I had deeper knowledge and better capabilities to convey what is not only important, but absolutely vital for the sake of your life and well-being.  Please, do not discard this words of mine as worthless nonsense.  Look around, read the news and consider the possibility that what I have said might be true.  Do it for yourself and for those whom you love.

And after that the Best begins.  But I’ll talk about that another day.  For the moment what is important is to determine what shall it be for you:  Doomsday? or The Day of Redemption?

Samael, The Real Uncle Sam – The Spiritual Reality Behind 9/11

A Jewish Reflection on the 11 Anniversary of 9/11

Lessons Concerning 9/11 and the Truth of America

Supposedly, the name “Uncle Sam,” referring to the government of the United States of America, comes from its two initial letters (US).  But, it really has a much, much deeper meaning, as you will see.

“Sam” is also the name of Eisav’s (Esau’s) ministering angel, who also just happens to be the Angel of Death and the Yetzer Hara (Evil Inclination).

SAMAEL (pronounced Sam-kel when spoken) is a  Prince of the demons, and an important figure both in Talmudic and in post-Talmudic literature, where he appears as:  The Seducer, The Accuser, and The Destroyer.  His name is etymologized as “The Venom of God,” since he is identical with The Angel of Death  (Targ. Yer. to Gen. iii. 6; see also Death, Angel of), who slays men with a drop of poison.

As the incarnation of evil, Samael (or Sam) is the celestial patron of the sinful empire of Rome, with which Edom and Esau are identified (Tan. on Gen. xxxii. 35; Jellinek, l.c. vi. 31, 109, etc.).

Samael flies through the air like a bird (Targ. to Job xxviii. 7), and, while the ḥayyot and ofannim have only six wings, he has twelve and commands a whole army of demons (Pirḳe R. El. xiii.).  In so far as Samael is identified with The Serpent (“J. Q. R.” vi. 12), with carnal desire (Yeẓer ha-Ra’), and with the Angel of Death.  All legends associated with Satan refer equally to this Power of Darkness; meanwhile as a miscreant he is compared to Belial (that is, “worthless”).

 All these descriptions of Samael show that he was regarded simply as The Principle of Evil that brought upon Israel and Judah every misfortune that befell them.  Even at the Creation of the world Samael was Lucifer, who ever sought evil and who began his malignant activity with Adam haRishom in Gan Eden. His opponent is Michael, who represents The Beneficent Principle, and who frequently comes into conflict with him.(Read more from the Jewish Encyclopedia)

Who indeed was the malach (angel) who came to do battle with Ya’akov?  It was this highly evil angel with whom Ya’akov Avinu wrestled on his return to Eretz Yisrael.  Rashi quotes Chazal (one of our Sages) who identify him as “Saro shel Eisav” – the ministering angel of Eisav. (Bereishis Rabbah 77:3; Midrash Tanchuma 8)”. The struggle, commentators explain, it was not a simple wrestling match.

“…Eisav is the antithesis of everything holy and ethical.  His ministering angel, thus, represents the Forces of Evil that do battle with the Ya’akov’s of the world, attempting to draw the righteous from the Just Path, and entice them to forsake their spiritual assets in favour of material trappings and ambitions.

And what all that has anything to do with 9/11?

The World Trade Center was the physical representation of “material trappings and ambition” in a city which represents all of that for the whole world.

The fall of the Twin Towers on 9/11 was the physical representation of the spiritual fall of Eisav’s evil ministering angel, as well as the representation of the ultimate collapse of Materialism as a power.  Such a collapse began with the launching of the war in Afghanistan on Hoshanah Rabbah 5762 (September 2001) and proceeded to the War in Iraq, and until today when the US and Europe are teetering on bankruptcy.

Samael, Eisav’s ministering angel, or Uncle Sam, climbed so high up the ladder that the only way to come back down was to fall.  And although it doesn’t look much like it from where we are standing now, that day the power of Yisrael began to finally rise.

For a river known as the “Golden Watercourse,” red is a strange color to see. Yet that’s the shade turning up in the Yangtze River and officials have no idea why.

The red began appearing in the Yangtze – the longest and largest river in China and the third longest river in the world – on September 6, near the city of Chongquing, where the Yangtze connects to the Jialin River.

The Yangtze, called “golden” because of the heavy rainfall it receives year-round, runs through Chongqing, Southwest China’s largest industrial and commercial center, also known as the “mountain city” because of the hills and peaks upon which its many buildings and factories stand.

The red color stopped some residents in their tracks. They put water from the river in bottles to save it. Fishermen and other workers who rely on the river for income kept going about their business, according to the ‘Daily Mail’.

While the river’s red coloring was most pronounced near Chongqing it was also reported at several other points. Officials are reportedly investigating the cause.
